Finally, May is here and now the final push of RV prep is underway. May is always a very busy month getting ready for the May Long weekend and the official start to the Canadian Camping season. Every Weekend is scheduled to perform some sort of prep or maintenance. Over the next three weeks I will be busy de-winterizing the RV, replacing a broken roof vent, replacing the Coach Door window frame, finishing off my Solar system installation, and washing and protecting my RV roof and exterior.
So much to do and so little time to do it all in. Once the camping season begins Lorraine and I will be off on trips every two weeks until the end of July when we start our whirlwind tour of BC where we will get married and have our honeymoon. To say that Lorraine and I are excited to get things started is an understatement. We have been very busy with Wedding plans and RV prep. Trying to ensure that we have gotten everything planned, booked, and ready so that we will have very little stress involved as our summer unfolds in front of us.
Lorraine often tells me I should rent myself out to her friends as they are all scrambling to find places to go this summer. Whereas we are already booked and her friends are amazed at how prepared we are with booked sites, Itineraries created and RV in Tip Top Shape. Unfortunately Lorraine’s friends at the hospital are not so prepared, and are now scrambling to find places to go to for their summer adventures. Once again a little early planning and discovery leads to a summer of pure joy and excitement on the road. Lorraine is always so happy that I plan everything in December/January though she thinks I am crazy at the time, but she is sure happy when we have a summer filled with adventures and travels that take us to places full of wonderment. For the past several months now I have been patiently booking sites and finding our perfect spots in all of the campgrounds we want to visit this season, and for the most part, though a bit stressful we managed to get a great list of Campsites to visit here in 2019.
If you haven’t already booked your sites there still is time to do so, though you may not get the best sites or the sites close to home. Instead you may have travel far afield from your home base in order to get a camp site in one of our Provincial or federal campgrounds. Of course there is always the first come first serve sites, but that is a bit too stressful for me to play with. I like to have my sites booked way in advance so that I know I have a guaranteed spot to travel too. Regardless of how you plan your camping season Lorraine and I wish all of you a safe, happy, and wonderful 2019 camping season.
Happy Trails
