Over significant protest the Province of BC has turned a once, first come, first serve campground into a reservation only provincial park. Golden Ears Provincial Park has four campgrounds with 409 sites available within the park, that used to be open to first come first serve campers. According to the protestors, this was an ideal situation as it allowed campers an opportunity to be spontaneous about their camping adventures. It appears that with camping being more and more cut throat, and more people wanting to plan their camping experience, the BC government has opted to change the park to its online system. Of course the ease of, and revenue generation, that a reservation system will bring to this park had nothing to do with the decision, i’m sure. The reservation system is expected to be fully functional for the 2019 camping season, much to the chagrin of the protestors.
